Subject: gotta be a Dr. Don mix
The mix here has to have been done by Dr. Don Pearson given the quality of it. Dan didn't have the hang of live mixing the ultramatrixes yet, which is why so many '87 tapes sound the way they do. This one is gorgeous as are basically all of Pearson's masters.

The show itself is pretty much the night when Jerry finished waking all the way up after the coma. Bird Song is the first of several great '87 versions and while the Stranger starts off drifting and unfocused, Garcia digs deep in the jam and finds his A game is still intact.

Worth a spin!

Subject: Old Jerr Seems a Little Tired
Hard to see how this Morning Dew is anything other than average. Oxford Speedway 88 Morning Dew much better for later MDs. Jerry sounds a little tired. Show seems okay --- not stellar --- not bad either. Good old grateful dead.

Subject: My favorite stranger
Jerry wails on Feel Like a Stranger - fun placement as set-closer.

Subject: Saw DSO Perform This
Last Saturday night. Such a great show I thot I'd revisit it right away.

DSO, with new guitarist Stu Allen, really made this night shine in comparison.

This Recording is excellent and the performance is good enough to warrant 5 stars. All songs are good versions but Bird Song, Stranger and Morning Dew are standouts.
